Dog bed—or cat bed?

cover_Stitch_fall2010_100 The Fall 2010 issue of Stitch is hitting newsstands now, with patterns for four of my projects in it. Phew, that was a lot of sewing! You already saw the ottoman slipcover when I tooted my own horn about being on the cover, so I thought I’d show you my Moroccan Medallion Dog Bed this time.

In the magazine, the bed was modeled by the lovely Chloe, but once the project made it back home, we had to see if it cut the mustard with our own Princess Fluffinstuff.

Look at that smile! She loves it! Of course, no sooner had she settled in than our newest home invader came by to disrupt the bliss.

Yes, we’re now a two-cat household. The Other found Felis Domesticus Minor at the hardware store garden center, and he couldn’t leave her to bake in the heat. And I couldn’t be the ogre that said otherwise, despite my aversion to the idea of the people being outnumbered by animals in our own home. Sigh.

Neither of the littlest pets had much of a chance with the “dog” bed, as their big sister Felis Domesticus Major has a rotten habit of claiming any and all beds as her own.

You're lucky - I make this kind of stuff and NOBODY sits in/on it. I think yours is just so CUTE though I may have to give it another try!
